Founder's Story

I built my first business in Seattle with the kind of energy only a first-time founder has:  full throttle, all heart, zero brake pedal. It taught me everything… including the fact that being “always on” isn’t a long-term strategy, no matter how ambitious you are.

When I finally slowed down, the real rhythm showed up.
Clarity replaced chaos. Stillness revealed direction.
And that space is where Sum was born again; not as a boutique, but as a philosophy-led apparel brand for the ambitious.

Sum exists for the people who carry a lot — responsibility, dreams, pressure — but refuse to lose themselves in the process.

We all rest differently.
Some in silence, some in movement, some surrounded by people, others alone.
But the need for rest is universal, especially for those who dare to build.

SUM honors that need.
We design for the in-between moments: the flight between meetings, the reset after a long week, the quiet clarity that changes everything.

It’s why Sum became members-only.
Not to exclude, but to protect the philosophy.
To build a community of ambitious people who know that rest isn’t weakness…
It’s wisdom.
